The ins and outs of operating a car share
Setting up a car sharing business is a bit more complicated than just pressing the go button with Hourfleet - although we do try and make it as seamless as possible.
There is quite a bit to think about besides having a website, an app and some cars to, well... share!
You may already be an operating car share service, a company that’s adding a car share service to the business, or you might be starting completely from scratch.
In any case, it will involve the coordination of Insurance, Terms Of Service, Privacy Policies, Tier1 Support, Marketing, and Social Media, to name a few.
With Hourfleet, you’ll have your own account on the Hourfleet platform with a branded app for your customers, and other tools for managing your car sharing business. While the Hourfleet platform provides the online functionality to help manage your customers and operate your car sharing, it’s the commercial relationships with insurance brokers, lawyers and possibly an advertising/marketing agency to get your business branded and noticed that you'll need to take some further time to consider.
These are some of the things that you will need to do to get up and running with Hourfleet:
Create an account with Stripe, so that you can charge your customers’ credit cards
Construct a Terms Of Service agreement with your Lawyers
Get a good understanding of how Hourfleet works
Decide on a brand look and feel for your car share business
Create a ‘landing page’ website to inform and capture your customers, and lead your customers to register and use cars in your network
Add your network of cars to the platform so that they’re ready to be booked
Consider whether you will be using CarKits (the device that lets users lock and unlock cars using their smartphone)
We’d love to talk to you about the details for your car share. Start with a FREE TRIAL and let us guide you through the setup process!
